Zyliss AG has developed into a leading Swiss traditional brand for household appliances since it was founded by Karl Zysset at the start of the 1950s. The Zyliss citrus and garlic press, the chopper which was popularised by TV advertisements in 1969, the salad spinner with the tug mechanism and table-top cheese grater all remain legendary to this day. Zyliss has belonged to the Diethelm Keller Group since 1985. Zyliss USA Corp. (USA) and Zyliss Deutschland GmbH (Germany) were established as subsidiaries in 1991 and 2005 respectively for the purposes of sales and distribution in their home markets.
